Priority, Excessive, Consuming all of you, Forcing you, Enticing you, To neglect me, Dismiss me, Then, Discarded you, You mourned, Mourning, Bridged the rift, A rift left to widen, All respect gone, No longer can I glance without cringing, Now, A relationship, You strive to form, Sorry, Attempt arrived years too late, Our bond, Harshly torn, You believed, The priority, Awarded more time, Though your daughter cried our in pain, I disregard you now Just like you disregarded me, My trust, Betrayed, No longer remains for you, Still, My heart crumbles, My face trembles, Sobs release, As silent tears stream down At the mere thought of you, But as I react, Everything sincere spoken, Those three words, Filled with emptiness, Mean nothing, Those words, I feel programmed to utter. |
