the whole “invisibility thing”… Yeah I’m done with it I’m someone I should be recognized as someone not as a target for abuse for slander so that other people feel better about themselves I will be recogized as a person whose morals are good but does what she wants not always what she should I’m just a girl just someone who likes to be seen as someone who understands who they are and where they stand I don’t want to be what they call cool I want to be me and- Ya know what?- maybe do well in school if they don’t like that if they think it’s uncool I really don’t care let them be the fool they can have their hoochie tops hidden beer cans and energy soda pops and I’ll have my individuality my artistry and what makes me “me” Live with it! I don’t want to be anybody else Stop trying to make me “you” and let me be “me” |

I agree, I wouldn't change anything. I really liked how you started and finished the poem. It was great. I wish that more people saw it this way but these days people, especially teens, just wanna try to make it in society and fit it but really the real world hasn't even hit them yet. Great message here. I loved it. ~heather Desire nothing except desirelessness. Hope for nothing except to rise above all hopes. |
