dawn, the light shining through his silken fingertips. spin me away from these streetlights, towns and towns full of bent lovers and pent up friendships. trapped underneath stitches upon stitches of distortion, don't ever believe the reflections dancing upon your mirror. and can you feel the sun when he screams that you're his number one? can you feel the sun when your smile is tight and your eyes are searching for god? a holy symbol, full of (rays) of nothing and (sparks) of summer ending. and this is how we get by, this is how we get high - up near the stars, riding upon forsaken lies. weighed down by hands of boys who don't know better. who don't know the (first letter) of your name. holding us together, but drowning us in sin. always too late to start over, always too late to begin again. |
