You write it off without another glance past the faded hair you grew to love through a forest of lost memories each one leading back to the same pointless thoughts she painted inside Her walk, through a hazy door jilted by the memory that some things are never perfect And she spoke to you without saying much each one you lost, replaced by yet another thing that reminded you that we were once together, once we even loved each other enough She collects broken hearts, hangs them on the back side of a split wooden door a fantasy treasure of everything That never was perfect enough all roads lead to graceland and you forgot, you simply misunderstood it all wallowed too deeply at the wrong times engrossed too much to realize that the most you had to give would never be enough for me. |
