the foggy wind chill and second hand smoke piled in around me. it was the spotlights, it was her screams. us; two little foolish girls, with the power to attempt a friendship that would never fail. but oh, it was time. to sort out the sorry lines and never again would i believer her as she rode in the car with me that night. filling up her lungs capacity with love song lyrics and fresh air and rubber. tar and flowers and headlights. and it was time, oh, it was time to stop caring and throw out the friendship rings and ropes tied tightly around each others necks; throw up from the fumes and laugh until we could never be able to find each other again, until the word faded was the only word that belonged in our heads. |
