my heart is so tiny,
you can have it in your hand,
and barely notice,
when it slips through,
the cracks between your fingers.

what do i do,
when hate and love,
become impossible to distinguish.
when everything seems to matter,
less and less,
with each passing day.

all i want,
is to sit here,
and stare at you.
modeling pink flamingo boxers,
managing to look gorgeous,
instead of ridiculous.

i smile,
with unfocused eyes,
and no laugh lines,
and the demons in my head,
pound harder against,
the bars of their cage.

because in the end i know
i will force myself to forget
everything
and make you not matter

I like this because it was in my mind straight forward in that it spoke to me with clarity and ease, can't ask for much more than that...good write

I'm very pleased with the poems I'm finding on PIP tonight. This is incredible. It's like you reached into my heart and turned it's pain into poetry. My library has grown considerably tonight, and I thank you so much for sharing.
