where did all the innocence go?

far away from home.

toying with the idea of innocence.
it's not; no, it's not the
expectation we were looking for.
beyond the gray sheets of ice
covered crush, did we look too far?
i think we looked too far.

above our heads, above those stars.
the start of what we were heading for.
in the deepest of night, you
attacked my heart. would i confess to
how it felt when you whispered
my saving grace.
slow in the beats,
fast in the fire.

traveling through time, you're the one.
you're the one,
i want to take along for the ride.
counting the miles,
lets call this our runaway.
lets call: this is who we want to be.
us, as a whole.
and how could i ever have
been separated from your soul.

so desperate for the restart button,
quiet
words that were never mentioned
hang in the subdued silence of all we
mean;
to one another.
we knew so well, soul mates
whispered in the dark,
hands hanging by the tick
of the clock.
joined together by the forces of
familiarity. we will never be able to
look back.

I only wish my life will turn out this beautiful. my soul mate is far from me and I can only hope time will make that change.
you write wonderfully! it touches my heart.
