It’s 1 am and still I can’t forget
The look of your eyes gazing into mine
The scene of my greatest regret
Where I fell just short of the line

It was late
You were cold
maybe fate
that you I hold

Lying in my arms
All wrapped up tight
Setting off silent alarms
Triggering my fright

Snuggling deep upon my chest
Gazing longingly into my eyes
Head tilted up from it’s rest
Waiting for kisses and not lies

I wish I could let you know
When I hold your hand in mine
There’s more there than I show
But I just need some time

I’m still unsure
Of everything I see
Sorry I can’t give you more
But I’m unsure of any ‘you and me’

I don’t think it’s in me
To give you what you need
And I don’t think your ready to be
That one who won’t make me bleed

I want to love you so bad
To be the one you run to
To be there when your sad
To mean everything to you

But I don’t think I could love you
Not as well as you deserve
I’ve not much left in me that’s true
I’ve burned up all my reserves

I doubt you could love me as well
As part of you still clings to what you lost
So I’ll stay here in my personal hell
And watch my heart cover in frost

I wish it were different
That this love could be
But for the present
It would probably kill me

So I think I’ll stay right here
With one foot in the door
And hold you close, dear
between friends and something more

Until the time eventually arrives
When I decide what to say
Whether I enter for life
Or turn and walk away

this is such a great poem.
i can see there is emotion put into this.
i just wany to say i hope it goes well with that person.

Another awesome write from you. I always relate to your work. I tried to pick some favorite stanza's, but I love them all. The 10th and 12th ones really stood out to me alot though.
This is a very descriptive piece, great imagery.
Another one for my library.

But Im comforted

all I want to
