Huddling in the dark

My dear friends;

    You've all loved me,
and been with me forever it seems.
We've had our ups and downs,
but we always have come out on top.
Each of us have our differances,
however, that in itself is what
brought us together as kids.
As your lives go on,
and you'll soon be leaving home
just don't forget about those
who have always been there.
Who have always loved you, unconditionaly.
And later on in life,
may that love and knowledge
of those whom you've left behind,
leave a yearning in you.
And bring you safetly back home, again.

                 Love,
     The friend you've left behind

"We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing"

With graduation quickly approaching, this poem inspires me to look around and realize how much is changing. It is easy to take friends for granted and forget how much they have gotten us through. Thank you for your beautifully written reminder.
