When you promised her forever
She smiled and gave a kiss

What did you have left?
When you found what forever held for you?

A life of nonexistence
Of love never again to be returned

Yet a promise is a promise
A promise is to be kept

And you pledged your love forever
So now what’s left to you?

What solutions have you left?
Where can you go to end the pain?

It’s chilling when you find
The only option you’ve left

Is to cut forever short
That would be best

You turn to the blade once more
Calling to you like an old, familiar friend

The pommel resting in your hand
A feeling of belonging in your veins

Bringing back memories of times before
When you took your life in your hands

Seeking to cut destiny’s hold
To be free of what you’ve become

The blade pierces soft flesh
Crimson droplets dancing along gleaming steel

Pride stays your hand;
Hope dulls the pain

Without a word
You turn away

Silently you return the blade;
You’ve lived another day.

But still the blade remains…

a very talented work youve done here.
such a talent expressed positively could prove to be most pleasant. however, the saddening thought of suicide is most unpleasant. may you find the freedom of happiness within your own heart.

I loved that part.  It creats such a picture yet you get the meaning so clearly. Very good job, you have some major talent at expressing yourself in poetry!(lol well I think so!)

Love is giving him the ability to break your heart...but trusting him enough to know he won't.
