note//_this is dedicated to my grandfather who passed away when i was in second grade. any thoughts/comments would be appreciated. old black and white films my mind keeps a file on his face just so i will never have the chance of forgetting the way his eyes seemed to smile like the sunlight. and i was so very young to be robbed of someone who would always make me laugh; so young to have to understand why i would never see his happiness again. everything became so unstable; breathing in just became a useless chore. the tears never taking a break to let you exhale the dirty image of his casket. your ears would echo of sympathy after sympathy for days on end and the picture was blurry but all you kept saying was that you were fine even though the nods and frowns proved that you weren’t. i think my heart is permanently missing a piece, which he took when he faded away like those black and white films we used to watch together. in and out, he slides through the memories, repeating the same old lullabies of a beautiful life now forgotten. but i would like for him to know that his smile has become my hope in which he lives telling me everything will be okay. i could be an accident, but i'm still trying. |

"My mind keeps a file on his face just so i will never have the chance of forgetting the way his eyes seemed to smile like the sunlight." I know what it's like to lose someone you love. My Papa (grandpa) passed away when I was in 2nd grade too. He died from cancer, and I understand how the pain never gets easier. This poem was beautiful... ~Alli~ *:.AIM = Alli4000.:* |
