I hold onto my precious consciousness cradling my face in my lowly hands. The scarred fingers hardly knowing the sight of my eyes covering them still as a broken shield. Tears scorn my flesh while igniting my inner fury slowly waiting to erupt upon an unknown entity. Searing as they are I cherish this rare moment a time when I can fully let go to salty discomforts. But now is not the time for pity to absorb my face nor the calloused palms to engrave my skin. It is a preparation of the future to come in the instant once I decide to grow, seperate forever from these hands. |
