I sing my breath toward you in an upward cloud, up to your nostrils, where I hope for you to inhale, and smell all that is me. And you will stand wide eyed at the scent that does not fit the image, for I am a decaying body, and a soul of good intentions. I’ve been much too logical for the knife. A bark across the thin, white air, it begs for support, but we all fall thin and brittle, and break pebbles of light between our hard teeth. Weaken, to restrengthen the unawakened hope for love, or something of the kind beauty. I must not drink the liquid in this half full glass, …though the thought of brief intoxication of zero is appealing. |
