My first ever clumsy attempt at a sit-down poem. I'd been doing poetry tag for a few months and decided I liked writing. It's based on a girl I met online, a poetess, who considered herself a "Vampeel", one who feeds on energy rather than blood. ADrEaMoFDaRkNeSs Entering the mist of night, Dark woven shadows... A panoply Of unseen shrouds, Like curtains of unlight Which trap the thoughts Enrapturing the mind Within a veil of hidden sights, Exposing every sense To dark unknowns, Brushing on the soulish realm, Begetting only terror And paralyzing fright. . By touch alone This iridescent light, A promised thrill, A wistful whim Is aptly known Evoking every flavor Of tantalized delight. . With the spirit sense perceive A chill sensation, Dark sweet passion Winding tight Like silk from widow weaved. . Transformed by predilection To an eerie selling Of the soul For shaded promise With temptations vague. . With pensive heart receive The souls delight A dream of shadows flickering, A dream elusive In it's mocking flight A dream of darkness....... ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |

Hey this is a great read. Nice job for your first poem. Please write more. I know what you mean about not writing for a while or ever for that matter. I stopped writing for a while and became rusty, the first one is always the hardest. Good job here. |

Thank you Brittany. Yes, it was my first non-improv poem, the first I'd deliberately set out to write with a mentally rehearsed theme. I'd been writing strictly improv's in poetry tag settings for around 4-6 months before this. Glad you liked it. ·´~`·»Garapan«·´~`· |
