The city is filled with shadows.
Shadows that led him to a pit stop
After taking the elevators up the towering building,
And descending the many steep steps.
He cuddles himself for safety,
And peeks down.
What he sees is where he prefers to be.
The one scene where he can be isolated.
No distractions.
He can’t hear the loud engines
Of the vehicles, newly invented.
He has no prosperity.
What he can do now is watch the sun rise
From behind his apartment building.
But will it rise,
Or would the clouds give out a surprise?
A surprise which no one would clue in the difference;
If it startles him off the edge,
Or makes a river down his cheek.
Not even the birds

You've got really strong emotions in this. It's really good!
