leaden sky and thunderclouds
vacant rooms and broken boughs
leaves of darkness all around
shadows on her lily pond
no safe place in memory’s keep
cradle me in gentle breeze
with tender song

this is how i pictured the "rock-a-bye-baby" lullaby.

dark, grim, and haunting. nice.
