The World That Never Was

0 posted 2007-08-23 08:50 PM

It lies beyond the stars in space
Through the deepest reaches of memory
At the end of this path henceforth I traced
Lies fortune, hope, and forgotten dreams

This journey is all that eases the pain
Of being lost within oneself
Though I know I search in vain
It's clear my heart knows nothing else

Shackled by reality's wrath
To chase the dream as long as it's there
Running down the endless path
Only to end up at dispair

So onward goes my weary soul
The battle is not nearly won
Sacrificing all to reach my goal
The price I pay to challenge the sun

"One last drink and the bottle breaks, returning us to the dust from whence we came"

"Running down the endless path

These are my favorite lines!! I love this

So no more hiding all your pain, you deserve a new start. That's why i'm closing myself away, this is a message from your heart.

Thanks, I was a bit wary of this poem at first. But I guess it's okay.

Very esoteric Twilight Warrior, lots of interesting metaphors.
I especially like the last verse;

"So onward goes my weary soul
The battle is not nearly won
Sacrificing all to reach my goal
The price I pay to challenge the sun"

Obviously you're in touch with your "Muse."

reminds me of the line:
"the things i chase won't set me free."

good luck on your journey, and though the end may be unreachable, it's not always about where you're headed. it's how you get there.
and sometimes, where you actually end up is more important then where you'd planned to go.
