I'm not too sure about this one but I'll throw it out and see what you think. DRUG OF CHOICE Slipping into the fabric of your life It sits so silent you could almost miss it If not for the words from others Telling you it is there So dark of the heart do you think it all innocent So ignorant are they that think you a fool Think you weak So strong you are In body So weak of mind So believing of your own words So bitter do they cast them upon you So right? So wrong? Is it that none of us see the woods for the trees? Once we take our drug of choice Our drug with no choice A poison of the body and mind A savoir to the soul A demon in disguise An Angel on your shoulder With every bottle finished A miracle with every pill taken As innocents looks on Days blur together Creating a hideous mask of reality Unable to contain Unable to fathom No longer willing to believe Does it matter? When the world is living in such darkness Does it matter our outcome? We live We die In the not too distant future we are forgotten Silently rolling over our ash ridden hills A park Or favorite football field Some like to be pumped with chemicals Dumped with a rose in the earth A sort of life eternal Rotting over the centuries As above turns to Hell So below The drug of choice It matters little at the end of the day The words spoken to cast out the demons Create a world all their own The words spoken create the demons Create the Hell Like a homeless man drifting in an ocean of sour smells and empty bottles Every bridge their home Every person their lunch Their booze Their drug of choice One eyed dogs stare from silver surrounds On a shelf Their tale untold You wonder sometimes What happened to the eye? What happened to your eye? Where did you lose it? Why did you let it go? As you make tea and cover shingles in tar You wonder what became of you Sitting high on a roof top You smoke and wonder When did you let your soul get off the train When did you say farewell? Sitting in a room with the TV telling you how crap the world is You often wonder to the younger years So full of promise You thought the world need look out for you Now many years on You hope you can spot yourself In the mirror in the morning You hope this day will not be your last As you embrace your drug of choice So selfish So misunderstood So ignorant of it all Voices tell of better things They also tell of can openers you use without your hands Music from your younger days bring back the spark Until the traffic report tells you of a crash on the bridge Waking every day thinking this is it The last That pain down the arm The tightness across the chest Death wants you Up on a roof you wonder What would be said when you finally died It is human nature to forget the evil The general misdoings of a person Once they are dead It is almost a Get out of jail free card Never once confessing your sins Never once have being a sinner Yet accused of it Looked upon as one It matters little Once you are dead Like your accomplishments Like your drug of choice Like your failures Sitting on a roof As the sun shines Taking the final step Wondering what was going to be for dinner Staring it in the eye As the world rushes to meet you While you take you drug of choice |

this was long, but amazing. I really liked it. My only recommendation would be that you take out the astricked profanity. Using astricks in place of a curse word, even part of it is against the guidelines. But as for the message in this....fantastic. |

hey that's cool, it happens, just glad you removed it, I would have hated to see this get pulled for the one thing, ya know? |

Another beautiful piece...i think this one was my favorite So no more hiding all your pain, you deserve a new start. That's why i'm closing myself away, this is a message from your heart. |

Christopher, May I say that as long as this piece runs, it's part of what makes the point of the piece. This is well done as it provides the perception of drugs ruining a life time and not being just a short time exciting activity. Well done and thanks for making this conform to the guidelines so it is still here. If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, |
