No need to remind myself, Of how I lost my love, And that It can’t ever be the same, For the remainder of my life, I will live a life without love, For the one who stole my heart, Took my soul with her, Just hold it right there, And don’t tell me to move on, Wishing that I would shake myself out, And realize that life is not over, Over the years my wounds will heal, But the scar that is left, will remain, Many years from now, I will look back at the time, When I knew that my dream would not be true, That she ended up being someone else’s bride, And no amount of hope could lift me that day, As I sunk deeper in depths of regrets, Feeling worthless in life, I hide myself, Behind a busy life, while not moving at all inside, My heart, a cold place even for me to be in, A smile forms on my face, As I think of the love she gave, And stood by me through the rough times, My only prayer now is that her prince will come, And take her to where she deserves, A life full of love filled with little kisses, That is all she wants in life, For that is what she shared with me. I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality. |

I think this poem is very well done. You have a way with words and a very natural and flowing style. Scars are a part of healing and a reminder that we survived the wound. Look forward to reading more of your work. |
