Where do I belong?
What follows me as I go?
I sing the saddest of songs
I don't really know

I've laid my head down to rest
But I feel it drawing near
It consumes me though I give it my best
It dissolves my happiness and replaces it with fear

I cry to my love
Unable to open my eyes
Ignored, I look for help from above
God refuses my cries

Desolate, I am alone
Colder by the hour
I live in a void, not a home
I am lifelessly devoid of power

It drained my soul
It never forgot my face
In my spirit blacker than coal
It began to erase

It killed me inside
Forever immortal
I am not destined to die
Never ceasing pain is natural

Lonely as I rock to and fro
Poisoned hearts decay
It ate my hopes, I know
I live on to suffer another day

It keeps tormenting my mind
It won't leave
I tried to push it all behind
But to me it will cleave

It extinguishes my voice
I cannot reach for you
I have no choice
But to see this affliction through

But will I live to see joy?
Why did you hurt me so?
It used me like a toy
And now it won't go

I gave my love away
It came to me so sweet
The darkness is with me to stay
It snaps at my heels as I run on bare feet

I know I died tonight
My heart stopped
I thought it might...
But my hopes were dropped

It erased my life

Hauntingly sad, but very beautifull anbd touching at the same time. I could relate to this very well. Anyone who hasnt experienced such pain could not understand and would propably not enjoy the poem. I really loved the poem.

I especially loved this part. it spoke to me so deeply. i really enjoyed the poem.

I just felt as if the last line "It erased my life" might still carry on into a final dark sad fatal stanza?

hells gate reads Abandon hope all ye that enter here
shall we go?
the road to hell is paved with good intentions.
Will you walk with me?

this hit me on so many different levels that it isnt even funny. it applied to so many aspects of my life that i wonder if you know me. amazing write *much applause*
