I once was saved but now am lost

the allure of lust came with a heavy cost

a price so great i could not maintain

the shield that protected from this earthly pain

in the depths of the soul two worlds reside

one good one evil both destined to collide

in all of us the remnants of these two places dwell

not bound to time but locked in the chambers of character

the complexity of the flesh make it easy to tell

through ones actions and decisions the dominance of heaven or hell

belief is not a factor for the reality is there

though one cannot see it's evident when caught in the snare

bear witness the shield that protected from this earthly despair

though immortal is no longer there

for i once was saved but now am lost

because the influence of sin came with too great a cost
