On the edge of an abyss

Caught in a spider's
web of deceit
A world of lies
and bitter defeat

A world where hearts
and minds are caught
A world where battles
of the soul are fought

A world surrounded
by endless despair
And infinite darkness
is everywhere

Looking at you
through bitter eyes
Waiting to snare you
in it's web of lies

Waiting and watching
you writhe in pain
Til your sanity's gone
and you're driven insane

hmm.... sounds like you want revenge lol.
i liked this. i think everyone feels like this at some point in their lives...
i loved the idea of the web.

Umm, I didn’t think it sounded like you wanted revenge, I was actually thinking you were writing about how the world is watching you, I must be kind of dense… cause, the idea of revenge hadn’t even crossed my mind.

Very good write on this, I enjoyed it immensely

I agree with stargal.. I didn't think it was revenge.. it sounded like the poem against the world.. how you felt everyone in the world was.. well maybe not everyone but the world as a hold.. revenge didn't even cross my mind.. but great job.. I loved it.. it's going in my library if you don't mind.
