A sound in the distance breaks the silence of night The muffled sobs of a child hidden from sight Alone in the darkness she wanders around Looking for something that's not to be found She clings to a rag doll as she wispers a prayer For someone to love her someone to care Her spirit is heavy as she trudges along In a weary old world where she doesn't belong She naps in the park as the light of the day Sends rays upon children busy at play But when darkness falls she's back on the street Looking for shelter and something to eat The wind starts to howl with the promise of storm While she cowers in terror and tries to keep warm Weakend from hunger and chilled to the bone With the doll in her arms she dies all alone |

This poem is very personal to me. I wrote it when my sister died in a motorcycle accident. It seemed like she was always in search of someone to love her. And the saddest part is that I don't think she ever knew how many people really did Angel |

In case you didn't know it YOU are an excellent writer! I can't stop reading your poems. I can relate to all of them I have read so far. Examinging the pain, with the knowlege that you weren't reponsible for what happened to you, that you were a victim of other people's problems in time, helps to bring healing. |

What a great poem... it dug so deep. It filled me with a sadness hard to describe, because I could actually /see/ it happening. A good poet can do that - show you what they want you to see without your mind knowing that it's being led. |
