This poem is kind of based on the movie Underworld. Its from Selines POV. At first she is talking to Michael then to Vincent...

It can however be about a million other things. Thats the great thing about poetry - it can be interpeted so many ways!!

“I’m not”

I’m not so confused
that I can’t remember --
I’m not so lost
that I can’t find out where you are --
I’m out of fear
I’m out of touch
Now you’re here
and I’ve lost too much
All I love is gone
Forevermore --
I can’t recapture
What came before –

I’m not so confused
that I can’t remember –
I’m not so alive
that I never felt –
What’s real
to an immortal?
the seconds feel like an eternity
and eternity passes by in a single glance –
I’m not so dead
That I’ve forgotten how to live –

I’m not so confused
that I can’t remember –
all that’s been destroyed…
Kiss me now
My love, my soul
for all is fading away now –
I’m not who you think I am
I’m not anything –
and soon I’ll vanish into the shadows once more –

I’m not so confused
that I can’t remember –
how you treated me
I haven’t forgotten
all I know –
I know the truth now
of how things truly are –
I can’t hold on anymore…
your power is – slowly –
destroying my soul --
I’m still not so weak
although you tried
I’m still to strong
to let him die --

I’m not so confused
that I can’t remember –
I’m not so cold
my hearts not made of stone –
Watch my tears fall
droplets of blood
splatter to the hard
concrete floor –
Marking my grave –
I’m not so invincible
after all…

Good movie, Great poem.
I liked it a lot...
You got that right things can
be interpreted in many ways,

thx for the reply Jen. Underworld is a really good movie and Kate Beckinsale is one of the most beautiful women in the world(at least I think so!) She is a really talented actress and she makes a kickin` vampire!
