I've taken to reading again and I've grown very pale though I venture outside once daliy where I run the same route to pump my lungs full of new air but the sun like a hesitant child smiling slow does not tint my skin any color then what it is. I wish it would but it's weak from the distance. Down the hall it stands next to the mirror where the clouding is reflected as fog, how far away you can see the blurring smile of a January sun, a distant relative of July. When I talk I speak calmly when I think the thought patterns come in frantic waves. The wind is beating me like a drum and the rhythm rings inconsistant. I try to think up stories to tell my children so they inturn can tell and were they ill mannered I'd tell them a story and I'd never sceam because when you scream no one decides to listen. The flowers bloom backward in the winter and I'm convinced it's bright and beautiful underground. Where the fog sets a spot for the finish which keeps me running full force into the unknown. The sky is spitting and drooling onto my forehead my skin shines white with an underlying blue from all my veins pumping. I've taken to smiling while I'm by myself and buying books and music again. And though I'm pale and my lips seem pertually cracked I don't long for summer, the wind is beating across my eyes as the sun stands down the hall and approaches with a slow smile. There's no reason I'm oversleeping dreamin' my life away...I'm not sure if I'm still breathing so I'll put on a happy face |
