Sketch Of Thought ~*Marge Tindal*~ Dark decline of shadows fall adumbrating in unison down bedroom wall Moving ... moving stealth-like they come Straining ... draining until it's all done~ Then in heap of shadowed keep into the darkness they creep creep creep~ adumbrate - AD-uhm-brayt, transitive verb 1. To give a sketchy or slight representation of, to outline. 2. To foreshadow in a vague way. 3. To suggest, indicate, or disclose partially. 3. To cast a shadow over, to shade, to obscure. ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Oooo, very fun word. I shall have to remember it. If only English classes would present their vocabulary lists so enticingly. "I don't need to scream for you to deem me aggravation." |

Awesome word. I'll add it to my list. I'm not normally one for long responses, so here's me thought: wahahaha! In a good way, though. |

Thank you all so much~ I use www.dictionary.com Word Of The Day to jumpstart my writing. They don't all make it to a posting, but this one liked me~ Appreciate the replies~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Excellent poem, Marge. The language was perfect; you really conveyed a shadowy atmosphere... *hugs* Where black, bleeding roses await the Thirteen, |

My thanks to you, Venus, for digging in the archived back pages of PiP, bringing it forward for comments~ Sometimes seeing something of my past writes inspires me to do even more~ So ... I'll most likely see if I can find that little dark muse and let him/her splash in my ink-of-think for something fresh~ *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*The sound of a kiss is not as strong as that of a cannon, but it's echo endures much longer*~ Email - [email protected] |

A very nice poem... Shadows and thoughts - an interesting juxtaposition... how they flit in the night... I also like the creep creep creep - it gives the poem an almost childlike innocence while simultaneously realising something profound... I'd rather learn from one bird how to sing, than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance. |
