Alizarin crimson over cobalt blue. That's how I remember you. Splashes of neon too bright for my eyes, you were way beyond the pale and the new moon. Whatever happened to you? Why did you take the fast train to the outer reaches of existence? Wasn’t the beauty of a summer’s morning enough? Maybe I’m just a sap for the hummingbird that flits near my feeder. Maybe I’m too easily enraptured by the chatty upbeat nature of the simplest songbirds, the sparrows. You always reached for the stars beyond, not the Milky Ways close by the rest of us stuffed into our empty pockets. Yours were already full, you said, of magical sweet dreams that fell daily from the skies above. I never understood your perspective until I looked through a telescope at distant planets and stars that were beyond my fingertips touch. You said you touched the stars each night and cradled the moon in your arms. Of course, I always thought you had consumed too many magic shrooms. Did you ever find that special star? The one you said belonged just to you? Is that you I see twinkling and winking at me after midnight? |

Alizarin crimson is a fugitive colour! It is not as permanent as other pigments! He is a watercolour memory that will gradually fade away... This poem has such a dreamy, mystical feel to it. His having left you that way makes me think that perhaps he is the Dog Star! EA |

Just loved this one,the simple beauty that's so often missed because of the want of bigger and better.Having done some ocean diving I can assure you theres far more to see in the shallows and tide pools then the dark depths of earths oceans.Such a colorful, thought provocking write.Somtimes I need to remember that alot of those bright blinking gassious masses burned out and died billions of years ago and the importance of being here now.Again wonderful write Live like it's your last day... |

Whatever happened to you? Why did you take the fast train to the outer reaches of existence? Maybe worse.... those two colors are crisp and sharp, but if they bleed together they fade to puce....the color of shadow....invisible. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

puce, eh? LOL, that's such an unappetizing word, sir ratsy but thanks for reading! Sade, thank you for the reply! Ray, thank you, m'friend. Tidepools and the shallows are definitely an explorer's adventureland. I spent many hours along the Pacific wading through those waters, checking out starfish and other gorgeous sea creatures. Yes, you don't have to look far from your feet to find heaven. Linda, what an interesting idea. Dogstar. HMMM. Did you know Keanu Reeves plays bass in a group by that name? |

Sometimes there are those who we only think ate the magic shrooms...all the while, it is in their total makeup, given to them from beyond the pale. Excellent read, Kacy... |
