If I'm Lucky |

Someday, I’ll sleep on this pier, shell out three hundred bucks for one night’s stay in a tiny cottage colored in white breakers and blue liquid, safe within the walls of cabin #2, with its views of the sea and cliffs to the north from windows trimmed in shutters with dolphin cut-outs; I’ll share a deck with gulls in the morning or walk to the dock’s end with a cup of tea in hand, greeting boys and men casting their luck to southern swells. If it’s winter, the beaches will be empty save the locals, who leave nothing but transitory footprints. Drying seaweed will be left to pile high at the water’s edge, unlike summer, when it’s scooped away to keep flies at bay and tourists coming. Whales might be migrating offshore, an instant of gray-breaching. I might catch that flicker of shiny reflection with eager eyes; or the dolphins could be heading south to Mexico, stopping to play in waves or to feast on fish dancing near clear lines dangling with bait, and if I’m lucky, I won’t be watching a green flash at sunset with a glass of wine clinking against nothing, won’t feel the sway of my bed on pylons nor hear the crushing rush in my ears without you. |

It just isn't the same without someone there, is it? ~sky Dreams last for so long, even after you're gone... |

Corinne...I think I know this place, or one very like it near Santa Barbara. Yes, with someone special that kind of place is wonderful, but then anyplace is with someone special. PS..The fire got within 10 miles of where I live. It was very scary and so many lost everything..thanks for asking. |

Ah yes, sometimes we all imagine how it would be... It's scary isn't it, sometimes how things are just so sureal yet they are dreams? Good work |
