We lay as one together …beneath a midnight sky, Beside a campfire’s embers, …as slowing flames did die, Nary a word was spoken, …no sound but night’s reprise, A whispered wind, a distant loon, …beneath the starlit skies, Then through the vastness of the night, …in suddeness did race, A shooting star ‘cross heaven’s vault, …then gone without a trace. It was as if a skipping rock …had creased a placid pond, Then disappeared into dark depths, …to seek what lies beyond. I felt the beating of your heart, …I heard your gentle sigh, As one we lay in silent awe, …beneath a midnight sky. [This message has been edited by Tim (11-29-2003 11:29 AM).] |
