The logs of the fire
Crackling in ernest
As I lie before
This bank of warmth

The lights are out
Yet the candles ..
Wicks, wax
Intertwined
A fusion of beauty

The golden glow
Eminating from the hearth
Matches the golden aura
Of my lover

We both lie together
Breathing as one
Asleep on the rug
Our bodies side by side
Our hearts intertwined, beating
As one
