Silent Movie In pictures solely I used to think 'Twas difficult with words to link, So to poetry I came for aid To link tongue to silent movie frame. It used to be like projector's clicking film, Skipping frame, I slipped away, Incomplete translations made. Still there's a way to go to skim emotions with oar's continued row but I'm somewhat on my way-- (For Passions and poets, I am grateful...) ~Sadelite~ (I wrote this after much frustration with an other, who brilliantly thinks in words, but this particular person was closed to possible insights that others had. That person could not skip a picture frame and see beyond…As I see it, all type of thinkers should work together, capitalizing upon each others’ thinking.{From what I’ve read, most people think in both pictures and words—Lucky people!}) [This message has been edited by Sadelite (01-17-2004 09:33 AM).] |

Words are pictures in the mind,,, you can conjure most any image forth with a simple description,,, We don't always see the same picture, fromt he same words,,,it all goes on our experience in life...... but agree, our visions and thoughts need be shared,,, Don't let the possible shortmindedness of one,,,,spoil your visual Michelle I wish all could find the true happiness I have found,,in the eyes of Mike |

Michelle, I appreciate you very thoughtful comment, and would like to share a slightly different view. I read a book called the Gift of Dyslexia that described three types of thinkers (not limited to dyslexics). Most people do think in both words and pictures innately. Others think mostly in pictures and others in words (These types have to translate things in other portions of the brain.) A situation recently arose in which could have left me in a very bad position. Since I've been writing, exercising the language side of my brain, I've become more comfortable with words and was able to gently get that person off my back! It felt great! This would not have happened until I began using the left side of my brain more. Thanks for your reflection. I'll catch your poetry later. Have a good day, Michelle. Sadie |

I fully understand you here....and your frustration. I don't think in words at all, and only partially in visual or other sensory images. For me almost all thought comes in what I can only describe as shadings, tones and balances...poor words that only hint the reality, but they're all I have. Every thought has to be translated into language before I can say it, and every verbal expression I hear or see has to be back-shopped out of language if I'm to deal with it at anything but a surface level. I sometimes envy people who can think in linear progressions of words -- it must be so much easier. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

(big angel hugs) Oh Sadelite, I believe it is very important to see in both words and pictures, as if we get too judgmental with only wods and fail to use our intuitions, there is a greater chaos! (sigh) I hope all works out with your friend, dearest friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton "You'll find something that's enough to keep you |

Ratleader, Thank you for sharing that with me. Unless a person thinks this way, it's hard to understand sometimes. Do you find that you think so fast that your thinking spirals out like rungs springing from a hub of a wheel, but insights go so quickly, it's hard to catch them into word? If they can be caught, then to put them in order--that's a real trick... I had a feeling you and I think a little a like... I enjoy your writing so. Keep it up-reading one of your post is a highlight in my day, as I'm sure it is in others'. Sadelite |

Seymour, I'm very appreciative of your comment, Sy. You are a very kind... YOU are a master of the five senses and then some-I learn something and feel emotion every time I read your poetry. Thank you again for your supportive words. ~Sadelite~ |
