Numb forced pink hyacinths and blue crocus are in baskets by the doorway as I breathe spring though not bitter this winter holds me numb as multicolored blossoms cling tightly still to cactus refusing to fade and drop |

I liked this very much. It made me think about the cycles of life and those pauses that seem to act as bars separately the measures of life's music. |

Nice free write. The title really threw me on off what the poem was about. You always have to keep your audience guessing. |

Surrounded by living growing things, you are, living in the midst of green beauty. Yet there is the winter within. This is classic Helen -- inviting us in for just a tiny moment, to see a gentle heart from the inside. |
