"Cum mon, Cum,mon, Boy! Go get'em!" Center front snipping hooves, Healer barks to grab their fear. He leads them by their follow. Our herding fellow sifting back, bulldozed from the rear. Blue murl led them by his follow. (Circling back and forth, He laced them like a shoe.) "Good job, Bud--let's go home.!" [This message has been edited by Sadelite (01-14-2004 11:04 PM).] |

Can you tell the folks who are reading this what kind of dog this is -- I think that is interesting info. |

iliana, He's an Australian Blue Healer. We paid $25 dollars for him. When asked how to train him, the owners said that they didn't have to be trained-that it herding was innate. We kinda chuckled under our breath, but later found this exactly the case. He has never been trained to this day, but knows what he is doing. Our other dog, a labrador, has no idea what's going on and just gets in the way. The problem with this breed is that they give it their all, stretching so powerfully and quickly that they are prone to damage their ligaments. Someday I may write one about his "paternal instinct with babies. The contrast is of his strength and gentleness is unbelieveable. (I added healer and blue murl. Gee I hope that is spelled correctly. I checked the dictionary and tried to use a spell check but couldn't find it. Thanks for your question. It does add to it I think.) Yes, I can see him through your words -- exactly how it is...and I see Blackie, the Border Collie my parents gave me when I was four... The herding is for sure inborn, and it got him shot by the farmer down the road about a year later, for herding his milk cows. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
