I wrap a woolen blanket around me, walk onto the porch, look up at all the stars and dream a little...feeling a cozy warmth and comfort...no thoughts, just a feel good moment....

Thoughts at Sunset

Soft wicker candle, glowing lamplight of Heaven…….sun rests
Picturesque crimson and blue haired angel of this dusk, I digest
Such illuminated admiration, pillows firmament, imposing coronet
We view perpetual regal lute’s concerto, our sky’s bonnet
Let us draw the curtains of sovereign’s charming twilight
Wind gathers harmony spiritual, nestled snugly within candle lights
Soon dusk comes hither, coiffures millions of glimmering silver fine hairs
Eternal lake aperture, fall’s flora’s, sleepily yawning & far away stare
Mild is this child upon our evening cradle, soft meadow rest
Of what shoulder paints this unique hallowed forest endless
We dare not take one single moment for granted
not even a sunset; which
Soon will blanket our land, warm; a revered shimmering dew
in memorandum, I ponder
Dome our healing sonatas, our world, hues of glory will once again bloom
No more shall rouse this day, we embrace now the evening light
Then rises to shine kindled, orange muse of flames; our moor breathing & alive
Expressively born of night’s empire, so golden & eloquently framed
As I muse this evening, and to, the end of this day
God Bless our sunset, remember the hours of forlornness daylight
By a September cool grief-stricken vale…our breast of life
Seems so sullied, upset, painful, feeling vulnerable in this darkness
Celestial fire amidst our souls our ancient spiritual faith must suffice
Continue fervent, supportive, committed, together tonight
Leaves our day of passage & tradition to sooth our way
Though one more pensive look, lingering tears of loss today
Heart implores this commemorative…parting prayer we whisper and say
You proliferate most plentiful or’e this fervent land
our source of illumination
Mournful sighs, yet fearless horizons will remain
in memoirs of you who will not ever be forgotten
Now rest upon your lap of earth, endless beach of virtuous cotton
Serenely within moonlit palms, promised endless parables
for which liberty stands, admirable
United within the cry of men, remains faith…hope, breaths none equivalent
Our compass & light house, born the price of freedom benevolent
Life’s simple treasures, miraculous hands of deity
We remain forever united, canvases this nation our land
purpose remains a fortress of liberty
America the Beautiful, will echo our concert grand
