Twisting the heart as unknowns collide
the door of reason...Shaping the eve into
darkness that humbles even the brightest
star....shimmering beyond the sight of
anguish.

Wrestled, pinned to the welcome mat of life
as battles rage beyond the horizon...as Bell
rings and hope hangs by a single thread...
Awaiting the last snip...

If only the scissor’s blade would swiftly
close upon the string of clutch, cutting the
apron’s bow and bid adieu....

Peace, be well.....for the coffers are dry...
And tears no longer well the eye of one
who once wept in shame.....

Barry your poetry always leaves me feeling as though there aren't words enough to describe how lovely, how profound, how elegant.... you write as the Old Masters painted... incomparably, with few equals.

The image of Rett Butler and Scarlotte O'Hara appeared to me (when Rett speaks his famous lines, "Frankly, Scarlotte, . . . .") when I read these lines.  Oh yes, there were some dark days!  Always enjoy reading you.
