Where did he put the wick to light some midnight oil
to light other oils, for their lattice work he toiled
allowed the hand to move by itself I heard
but it is the head that calls a spade a spade
and of the tints and hues, what when they fade?

he'll be long forgotten yet remembered for a similarity
long removed from current visuals that grace a storefront's crystalarity...
in search for perpetual poverty
alive... fits up to the old stereotype...
an artist who rolls his baguette in brown paper
once that lunch is consumed in the heat of inspiration
it's crumpled mass is spread out to catch a drop
of perspiration.

He flips through laundry for the last clean shirt...
must ready himself for an exposition in the works
now where was that wick and the oil for that
Grecian lamp
to light the canvas of the night
allow his hand to reach where colors blend
a spade is a spade, small name artist worries in vain
but artistic talent is about to be tapped again...

Men in black await at the bottom of the stairwell
like in Kafka's Trial we bid the artist farewell..
or like Rembrandt who periodically painted his  changed face
he could never keep up to the inexorable rat race.

I like the way you've started playing with language.

Thanks Blue, Ilana and all of you

what can I say?..there is a definite change in style and approach when you back over the past few years...but the creative process has to continually evolve
