state of marital bliss

This hurting never stops,
the pain - it always stays
In the forefront of my memory,
not just on days it rains.

The limp is barely visible
   to the stranger's view,
But in my every conscious step
   I'm reminded of you.

I recall the day you happened,
   unexpected in my life.
You shoved me from a pedestal
and I fell from being his wife.

Many moons have descended.
   "Wife" is your title now.
Your cunning and pure jealousy -
a product of our ended vow.

You're like a splintered bone, my dear,
for the wound has healed outside.
But the ache of being injured
   lingers deep within my pride.

*this is a revision of a poem I wrote in 2002, two years post-divorce.  I now know healing does come, eventually, completely.  ~McLean

McLean...
some lessons and instructions
we never ask for,
still provide a valuable history.

Thank you for sharing.

McLean, this is the part that seems to stay
the longest. Just when we think all the hurt is
gone, it seems to surface again.
Hugs to you,
Ethel

(big angel hugs) Oh, dearest friend, I'm sorry that you're going through the post-divorce phase still, and I can understand how the ache can always be there, as I loved a girl named Joanna (she is "RosePetal" here on Passions) and she "loved me" for about 15 months but right on New Years Day 2003, she said she never loved me at all (her poems to me prove that she did love me before) and I think deliberately tried to break my heart somehow, as there is no more effective day than New Years Day, when you look to the future and set new goals and hopes! (sad sigh) I send angel hugs your way, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet McLean, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Especially liked:
