Did You Ever Have One of Those Days? You awake to the darkened sigh of morning. You move about in your innocence thinking it will be a beautiful day. Even though they say it is zero degrees with a chill factor of ten below. You slip out the door with a smile and wave good-bye to the furry kids. “Be back later kids, be good”. You say in your naivete. Your friend looses her scarf, you retrieve it half way down the block. As she struggles to put her scarf on she drops her gloves and walks away. Another friend picks them up and yells her name- Hey you dropped your gloves. We all laugh, continue down the street in the freezing wind. The day continues in an easy manner. The pain in the neck day, looming in the distance, waiting patiently for the innocent to walk right into the drama that will enfold within a few hours time. We drive home tired already for the warmth of home. You’re dropped off by your car, she goes on home. You get into the car, letting the car warm for a few innocent minutes. You start to back up. You think why is the car backing up so slow?..................Oh! No! You have a flat tire. Flat tire you say. That’s not so bad.......................Ha! The wind blowing getting colder and colder. You call your family, no one home. Your family member cannot come, still working for a few more hours. He says. “ Call my friend he can help”. He’s not home. Call your girlfriend back . “Can you come back and pick me up I have a flat tire?” Here she comes, you get out of the car, you lock the keys in the car. Still not to bad you say........................Ha! The cold is attacking your body, you have to go to the bathroom..... soooooo..... bad. You say. “Let’s go to my house I have extra set of keys . Then I can get into the house, to get the keys, to unlock the car, to get the keys, that are locked inside.” Still sounds not to bad..................Ha! Now the flower pot is outside and the plastic bottle is in the flower pot. Think ten below. The pot is froze and the soil is froze.................Guess What? Can’t get the keys out of the pot to get the keys into the house, to get the keys to unlock the door, to get the keys that are locked in the car. So you break the pot that is frozen, but the soil is frozen and the bottle is frozen tight in the soil...............Now What? To your friends house you go. Hammer and screw driver in hand, the darn soil is to hard to budge. So you dump it in a bucket of hot water...................Guess What? You have the keys to unlock the house, to get the keys to unlock the car, to get the keys that are locked inside. Hope you went to the bathroom by now.. Later in the evening your family comes home and says in all their innocence. How was your day? All you say is. “ You wouldn’t believe it if I told you”. The moral of this story is don’t lock your keys in the car and if you do. To Bad..................... Bon-Bon ![]() |

I had a hard time getting past the 10 below temp. This reminds me why I live in South Texas, can't stand the cold. After a day like that, I'm afraid that anyone who ask about my day wouldn't live too long. Enjoyed this very much. |
