In an upside-down garden

She has reached her point
of no return
and unlike she thought,
she did not go kicking and screaming,
but rather
quietly, happily.

She is sorry, she thinks
for making this hard
disrupting your life
she had to choose, everyone said
but it was not
how everyone thought.

In the end
it was predicted
to choose the one
who loved her the most

but
with her

that is never how it goes.

She has reached her point
of no return
ending all deliberation with
a hug and a kiss goodnight

She doesn't know
what to think

All she knows is
she wants to feel
the touch of his lips

over and over.

Wow, I totally relate to this poem. There are always choices in life, and although I should go with the 'one who loves me the most' I always go with the one I love the most, and that kills my heart...
Thank you for your poem.

Terrina- go figure, huh?  No matter how much you realize that the other person loves you, you have to go with your heart, not theirs..

As old as I am I sure relate to this, and always followed my gut instincts.  There is a great message in this poem Allysa, nicely done.

it seems that people are always telling us "to make the right choice", I always say, do what is right for you,,,,,,,that choice may not be what others expect, or want to see,,,but,,,it's your heart, not theirs,,,,
i like your poem

Incredible theme, Allysa.  You did this perfectly.  And how true it is.  Beautiful.

Uh huh ... "to thine own self be true"~

Love it sweetie~

Almost never, that is so. But sometimes, some blessed times...
