Easy to celebrate work up a commercial high when you resist, with tea and toasted rye you fall into disfavor among party fools slaves to systems that venerate New Year tools Happy Day, that should be like one and the next a day of relaxation taken in balanced context that goes down badly for the party goer one is labeled too serious by a horn blower... Easy to celebrate to an ecstacy and then easy to fall prey to older habits again let me enjoy more than the first of the year than lie hung over from last night's beer. Easy to celebrate in the company of ten and easy to separate, not see them again harder to take each day for what it really is takes the sprite out of fun, removes the fizz.... Happy Day...should be like one and the next concentrate on a carry over of joy well spent it's harder to take a day for what it really is can turn one silly as overnight stardom in showbiz... © Copyright 2004 ecrivan [This message has been edited by wordwizard (01-01-2004 06:21 PM).] |

Hi word wizard. Mmm an interesting read. I agree. Since I never go out New Years but always stay home with my wife and daughter I do not get the concept some believe New Years has to be a big drunken celebration. We had family movie night, built puzzles and played games and I think it was probably the most enjoyable New Years celebration I have ever had. I know it will be a memory I'll cherish in old age...and for good memories I can never feel regret. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

"let me enjoy more than the first of the year" so true...staying home alone wasn't so bad the only hangover was from trying to hang on until the New Year reached the west coast. Enjoyed the truth in your words...I am often touted as being too serious and I definitely am not a party goer and anyone who makes you feel bad because you don't participate in such is not worth being around. Wishing you the best every day of this new year. Maureen |

staying home alone wasn't too terrible... and you're so right, because every day is new. And no second can be taken back. Always, Alyssa He was a man of sorrows |

I worked New Year's Eve and New Year's Day so I didn't do anything to celebrate...but I do have a few bottles of sparkling wine in my fridge that will probably sit there till they get nice and aged...they were given to me as gifts. I hate hangovers too much to ever drink more than one glass, now ad then. Good write here...enjoyed |
