i walked the streets of pain
i ran for hours with a phone in my mouth
took showers in the pouring rain
lost myself in the crowd

i went through years of loss
cried hot tears in my bed at night
fell through the hole in my heart
felt too weak to fight

water, wash away my past
let me finally have a rest
i'm tired of feeling all alone
please write my name in stone

i got hurt on broken glass
i lied on my back with burning skin
rubbed my heart on carving cliffs
lost by trying to win

i choked myself to faint
i nestled up to the hedgehog's niece
i always cut a bit too deep
felt like the missing piece

tonight the stones beneath my feet don't hurt anymore
without a single blink of the eye i'll leave the shore
i'll swim to the end of the horizon with no thoughts in my mind
and i will find

the water to wash away my past
i will finally have a rest
i will never feel alone
i'll finally be at home
