Ashes A struggling stream Drained again by the carelessness of another Ceases to fight against the world The mind races But the body dies The heart cannot bear any more pain Lord, let the shredded world go up in flames Let it burn with the passion of love lost Squeeze out the pain and flood the world Spare us all from the dry life we live Lord, burn it all down Walk through the forest And hear the hearts shatter beneath your feet Listen to the desperate whispers in the air Reaching for the heavens Set it all ablaze like the confusion inside Thousands of hearts bleeding for a pulse to call their own The world should share the suffering No one should feel this way alone Torch the homes The wilderness Take the last breath of every soul All the beauty we can never touch Lord, burn it all down |
