Winter Moon Rising slowly Moving, Up through low brush Climbing, Bodies of trees Ascending, Ladder-rung arms Of shaggy hickories Whose finger tips, Reach out and scratch At its facade, And seem to catch It like some oval kite, Or child's balloon... Gray features are etched On the silver face, Of a rising, winter moon. * You frown seems peer of lovers scorned That weep below you everywhere, And is that dark the trace of passion tears In grey, that starks your sympathizing glare? The cold wind drowns out sorrow moans Of those with lifted arms, that still have hope The pain of jilt, might be erased; Despondent music, sad, they croon... Gray features are etched On the silver face, Of a rising, winter moon. * But wait! a smile, might be what's there, A wink that shines, like facets Cut in diamonds, of a laughing lunar face, That through a bed-room window peers; Enraptured by its glow, are two below That only show as writhing shadows, Locked in an embrace of lust, and love Thus proving, vain the twains suspects, or fears Their faces blushed, by romance heat Perchance the morning sun Will stall its light, and not show trace, Until the afternoon?... Gray features are etched, On the silver face, Of a rising, winter moon. * end |

(smiles) Yay! Oh Ford, this is beautiful, sweet friend, I too have always been mesmerized by the winter moon and though I usually feel a sense of melancholy from it, I know on the light side of the moon she smiles! (big angel hugs) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ford, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you!
