In endless circles,
rain chases itself
into portraits
of indecision,

the deluge pours
by the window, as
eyes distort in
the maze of trees,
warping as they sway
on the rainsoaked sky,

there are no clear
exits tonight,
only the waivering
between self
preservation
and the freedom of
madness
