Erosion It would be grand to say “canyon,” but there is no canyon, no blearing expanse of time, of mountains, cliffs, only a work of little voids without respite or cataclysm. It is drop by teardrop, flake by mote like a dulling knife with each loss miniscule, just a bit of love, a grain of joy but always with a lot left to resist this strange and out of season rain. |

I don't think I've ever had the pleasure of being the first to respond to one of your poems... what a treat! *S* We do tend to be mesmerized by the magnificent... while being defined by small moments of significance. *S* I like this very much, my friend... excellent! *S* |

Ed~ Tee-Hee @ Suthern ... if she's impressed ... make that two~ I would probably had said the same thing if I'd have been first ... well, not that I was thrilled or anything ... but you know ... that gushy stuff she said about the poem itself~ Oh heck ... I like it !!! *Huglets* ~*Marge*~ ~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost, |

Ratleader, Thanks for pointing this out to me. I read it once, twice, and had to go for a third time. Your writing is brilliant. I liked very much how you took the grand out of canyon, carving it with tears (the Colorado River might be a little jealous, though, as not to receive a little credit, but that's how it goes!) Thanks for your comments at my post and directing this to me. Sadelite |

Ed...I'm just getting around to reading some of the poems I missed while I was gone. Erosion doesn't have to be magnificent to have an impact. [This message has been edited by Martie (12-07-2003 07:01 PM).] |
