7. Ere we can think of time, the moments past, Like Patience, in rapt Shakespeare's deathless page, We, the bit player's, have all been miscast, Wherefore has gone the Victorian Age? Come sweet reflection, hither pensive maid, Let us together write a serenade. How vast, how dread, o'erwhelming, is the thought, Upon fame's roll call my name will appear, The possibility leaves me distraught, For I'm not a melodious pioneer. Yea to Shakespeare's memory I kowtow, He was a Master like Vincent Van Gogh. Winged mimic of words, I'm a motley fool, And I ask not a lofty flight be mine, For I oft ignore grammatical rule, And I seek my prose from spirits of wine. In its own language hear my wondrous verse, Iambic Pentameter is perverse. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |

"Let us together write a serenade" Kevin, write how you wish, how it comes out of your head and heart, off your tongue... 'tis beautiful and far beyond anything that I could pen Might I ask what the Paramour Sorrows are? |

Hi passing shadows. What is the Paramour Sorrows? It was a collection of 20 Untitled poems which I edited into a single long narrative and titled the Paramour Sorrows. Each poem dealt with a similiar theme in the sense that they were all poems of sorrow or regret. This single poem is #7 from that piece of work. The word Paramour of course means lover/suitor so the entire work was the regrets of one who loved too well I suppose. What can I say...I am the reason for my own madness at times. (Giggle.) I am really glad you stopped by to read this part though. Hi Seymour...always a treat when you visit my work. Glad I could share a moment with you. Hi froggy...I didn't forget numbers 1-6 dear friend. (Wink!) I just figured the poem in its entirety was just a little to long for this forum. This is the shortened version for the masses. (Snicker!) I only edited out 19 other parts. Glad you stopped by for the read. Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |
