What Went Wrong

the first time I ever saw you
I knew that the sight I saw
on the horizon was hiding colors
that was caught between the hues
I tried to swim out to the sea
where the sky touches the water
but the further I went out
the further it moved away from me
are there starless nights
within sleepless dreams
could there be dreams to find us
waking tinted finding morning
gauzed in multi clouded cotton
but you drew lines for me
that I was not allowed to cross
and the sum of whom I am
in words are not enough
and I do not meet your worth
I can be no more than my words
and as simple as they may be
it is all I am
and all that I have to offer
maybe it is an angel you look for
and my wings were lost to my past
yet wingless I still know flight
for I can reach out and touch the sky
your angry disappointment stings
air with surprising lightening
and my heart has learned to rain
and this is something
I do not understand
for all I wanted to do
was move a mountain

Love the understatement of the last two lines also Helen.  Intense emote, I really enjoyed reading...

OH my goodness!!  Aren't you lovely here!!
I'm sorry,  but I am completely without words.
Dear Helen, thank you for sharing this beauty.

I can't imagine this happening to you....either your being walled away or your being rejected as not measuring up in some way. From what I know of you, only a fool would do such a thing.

You ought to have a little talk with that benighted chap....

all i wanted to do was to move a mountain

we really should stick with the mole hills perhaps, you know? so less work put into it, just natural as it should be when its right

"Do not meet your worth" This is only because he is so far beneath you.
