Not even that one special one
who you feel was sent from above

Some do not have the inner abilities
to show love as others do
From circumstances in their lives
they closed their hearts off from me and you

Building a wall around themselves
to shield from harm and hurt
If we will have patience we may find
a space for our tender love to insert

These ones need special attention
with unending love and care
Some of us have enough love to spread
for even the untouchables to want to share

If we will do our best
our patience and love to bestow
Eventually we may find our special one
to us their love will show

Hello Ethel Mae!

Oh how true is this? wise words lady. and its so sad, when you give, and know they never may be able to experience/give the love you know you are capable of. My dad is a lot like that, he has little compassion or tolerance,respect for many people/things.

It's a shame. as we often break our hearts trying to show these people love, only to be rejected.

A fine write here lady, a keeper.

Noah, I have always loved people.......but after getting hurt so badly by my deceased husband, I wasn't trusting like I used to be. If Gary wasn't so patient, understanding, and loving to me, he probably wouldn't have put up with me for over five years. I feel so blessed to have him and his love for me. You weren't there when I went to reply to Lee and Noah.

I know, isn't it sad when people can't show love? Like I told Noah above, I was hurt so bad in my past that I could feel myself building a wall around myself. It took Gary a while to get me to let the wall down. I'm so lucky that he still has the same patience, love and understanding for me, after over five years.

Some people never let those walls down, though. I guess it's a secure shield for them, they think.
