This will not work if you don't want to try

This will not work if you don't want to try
where did the love we have go awry
trying is a two way street
to make a love that can't be beat

this will not work if you don't want to try
the words you say cut like a knife and i cry
the anger, and arguements are getting to be
too much to bear, this isnt the way life should be

this will not work if you don't want to try
how did we get here, has the love we had died?
the words 'I love you' now sound so empty, they dont ring true
maybe we should set each other free, instead of us being blue

this will not work if you don't want to try
how could this happen, is the love gone i cry
one person trying does not a relationship make
it takes two, where is your heart as my heart breaks

are you willing to try, to see this through
or do we just part and go separate ways, feeling blue
a love that ends, the pain is there, tears falling
maybe we need to set each other free instead of hearts breaking

and since it seems that you are not willing to try
this just will not work, as the heart cries
for a love that is lost, but isnt it better to be set free
than to continually causing the heart to break?
