She looked at me as if to say,
“Untie your apron and spill
Out words tied up in its silence”.

“Speak to me those precious words
Rolling around in your
Pocket of worn wisdom and wishes.”

“Whisper to me
Unspoken precious secrets,
Only you and I share.

"Release silly words caught
In those raveled edges
Of worried threads
In your pockets of time."

An apron now on a table,
Gladly traded for an offered pen
Dances freely directed
By her hurried excitement.

In her sweet eloquence
She lets her story unfold in
Characters, thoughts, plots
Escaping through
Imaginative whispers.

Somehow she sees it in me
Hidden there in my core.
That quiet unspoken warmth
Ignited by the pleasure
Only she brings.

Suddenly, just by saying,
“Let’s write a poem!”
She melts my heart,
For her,
Time stands still.

I have had this chatterbox for days now, and she is THE most inquisitive, imaginative child I think I have ever met.  She loves "writing" poems and can rhyme way better than I can, but she can't even write yet LOL, so she makes them up and I write them and embellish them, it's fun!  Thanks everyone, that is her sitting on a cliff by my house, pretty view there.

How cool is that verse!!!!!!
This whole write is delightful....
methinks you two are quite the team.
A wonderful mix of musings poetess Sharon.

Words break into splinters on the pages I write
If I lost you I don't know what I'd do ...
Burn forever where the flame turns blue

Now I know where this one resides...
you not only make your granddaughter proud...
but you spread your pride like a warm
blanket, comforting us all.

See!  She is good for me LOL, thanks everyone.  She goes home today, and I bet I will miss her chatter although one day without it might just be what I need
